L. Joy Williams is chair of the Higher Heights for America Political Action Committee, where she leads efforts to engage Black women in supporting the organization’s endorsed candidates. She is also a founding member of Higher Heights for America.
Williams is a sought after political political strategists, public speaker, social justice advocate and media thought leader. She is the founder and principal of the New York-based consultancy LJW Strategies, president of the Brooklyn NAACP, and creator of the SirusXM weekly civic affairs show #SundayCivics.
In 2013, Williams worked to help successfully elect Letitia “Tish” James to the office New York City Public Advocate, and in 2014 she managed a midterm election campaign to turn out Black women voters for the Georgia and Ohio elections, increasing their participation by 10 percent.
